After moving around for a bit, including a few years in Colorado, my family moved to Greendale in 1981. We lived in one to the original homes from when Greendale was first built. Back then, these humble homes were more modest-looking. As well, they were considered to be "on the other side of the railroad tracks."

My father spent most of his life working as a custodian for the Wauwatosa School District. My mother worked in Administration for the U.S. Postal Service. As the oldest, I often had responsibility for my two younger sisters. Hard work was always a constant. I would work my way through college, earning enough money to graduate without any financial aid payments.

In 1995, I became the first in my family for 4 generations to graduate with a college degree, earning my Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology. I quickly began the tireless search for my first job in Human Resources.

Once I started my career, I began taking night classes and ultimately earned my first Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from Marquette University in 1999. I would earn a second Masters Degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, completing it in 2016.
This seems like ages ago, when my kids were this little. My son is now almost 23 and working to finish an HVAC certification from Moraine Park. My daughter is 21 and still exploring options for her future.

In 2016, I was elected to the County Board as a write-in candidate. While the ballot was empty, there was another write-in candidate for me to compete against. I was re-elected in 2018 in a contested election, and have been re-elected four more times, beginning my sixth 2 year term in 2026.
